According to a recent article in a popular tech magazine , new home security robots on the market are retailing for over $5000.00 US. It reminded me of an expensive version of what i was trying at home.
While shopping at a liquidators in Toronto acouple years ago, i came across a few Commandobots lying amidst piles of merchandise. A couple were still in boxes ,intact, complete with instructions and the seperate headset component .One was lying in a pile of missing a headset or missiles or both.

Commandobot 3
The Commandobot 3 as it turned out is a neat little toy that you can program to walk paths up to a hundred feet from the headset, then either shoot missles or lasers in the form of little plastic darts based on either pre - programmed input or live audio commands via the headset. When i saw the prices, i grabbed them up and came back a few days later to get a few more as i wanted to be able to take a few apart in the lab.
It seemed that they take so many batteries ,people were returning them thinking they didnt work because everyone of them still functions perfectly. I got 6 working robots that retailed for up to 175.00 US for around 50.00. By mounting a wireless pencam on a robot, and using motion detection that sends email alerts, one can monitor a their home or office far cheaper than $5000.00.

By using an mp3 player mounted so it plays into the headset (which is attached to the bot so it has infinite range) you can then execute the voice commands to have full control of your robot from anywhere in the world.
You could even add a 50,000 volt capacitor ( like used in stun guns ) add better springs, and connect wires to modified darts. In effect its a walking ( rolling ) stun gun thats video monitored and remote controlled.
