Ultra light Aircraft - TrikesUltra-light aircraft is the wave of the future.The smallest of these solo helicopters is the Trike. These machines can be made with a mere 40hp engine and less than $1000.00 in parts, easily obtained from an ultra-light aircraft kit manufacturers. Trikes are very basic, using reliable ultra-light polymer and glass composites for rotor blades and various connectors and consists mainly of a tubular frame, a seat, engine, shaft and rotors. No pilots licence is required and it is more fun than a car, much cheaper,uses much less fuel and causes much less pollution. As new light-weight materials develop there may also be new light-weight plastic engines leading to smaller helicopters assisted with some kind of hydrogen fuel-cell powered turbo jets for control and thrust. |
